何十年か前のこと
大阪市に住む老女が101歳になり市からお祝いを受け新聞記者が取材に来た。
その際のインタビューの第一声は「それはもう、戦争のときは、えらいさわぎでおました。」
だった。
これ聞いた回りの人間は皆太平洋戦争のことだと思った。
しかしこのあと老女は
「わてらが京橋のほうへ逃げていくと血みどろの幕軍方の侍がぎょうさん船で淀川をおりて
いきました」と続けた。
そう、この老女の言う「戦争」とは鳥羽伏見の戦いだったのだ。

信じられないが、本当だ
